Is the metal trim along the comb modeled after any original examples from the 18th or 19th century?

Regardless, it's a nice looking rifle. I mean, I wouldn't kick it out of the safe for dripping Ballistol...

Guns attributed to Tennessee gunsmith Elbert Bible have long returns on comb, and rear entry pipes. I really like this rifle. The wood is outstanding.

There is also a swivel breach rifle in the ALR library by Amos Bisbing of PA that is silver mounted with a long comb plate. The triggerguard also looks somewhat NC. 081228-4

This rifle was built by Jeff Tebay who is a Rifle Builder, Blacksmith. He also is a Lock Assembler for Jim Chambers. It is stocked in an excellent piece of curly Ash. He is located in Harrisville PA.

That's a magnificent Appalachian/Tn rifle. That stock is definitely a head turner. I particularly like the fact that it doesn't have that hole drilled in the side of the butt stock.

That rifle boy's is one of my favorites. An I think at the Tennessee show my friend Duprey. Just might be bringing a stock or two of curly ash like that for sale. He did last year an he still has a couple left. Oldtravler

Outstanding Southern rifle! Great architecture and fine furniture everywhere and the ash stock puts it over the top. Love it.
