Thanks Denny. The slow motion footage could be a great aid in showing a persons flinch as the time laps between ignition and recoil was quite evident.

this gives you a good excuse to get a new powder horn to match your rifle.

Very nice to see.  Thanks for posting it!
Looks a lovely rifle and fires fast.

Can I ask what charge you were using?  Recoils seems sharp in the slow motion photos.

Thanks again,
Richard.

Yes sir.  Some of the first loads were 85 and 90 grains of 2f with a .530 ball and a 0.015 bear greased patch.  Later shots were 80 grains of 2f.  I only had some 3f to prime with so she was a little slower shooting and it was pretty wet that day!  Downright soggy!  Anyone here want to buy all my centerfire guns??  ;D

Think I like my bison horn.  I made it last year from a Montana bison here.  My "persona" if I have one is that of a Early era fur trade guy perhaps like Russell or earlier who had a late Lancaster, Dickert rifle and came up from either the Missouri or Yellowstone region to this region as American Fur co. then Free Trapper.  I do have a white cows horn that matches also.

Denny,  I assume that is you in the orange shirt and shooting the new rifle?
Great looking gun, but I like the hat also.  I been trying to find something like that for years for cold weather hunting and shooting.
I have a  beaver hide but think it is too thick and would make too big a hat.
Did you buy that hat somewhere or make it?
If ya made it, what from?
Thanks and keep on shooting, great video.
It is inspiring me to get my plunder out and start shooting more.
