Question.......Trying to find out what this is worth. It's a J & S Hawken Rifle kit, 50.cal., Sharon barrel, in the box. Bought in 1976 from Old West Arms in Colo. Have pictures.

What the market will bear.  It’s as good a kit, quality wise, as current offerings, but some feel the buttplate, entry thimble, and nosecap are not like we see on original J&S Hawken rifles.  Barrel is top notch but not tapered. I’ve assembled Sharon kits back in the 1970s. They went together well.  Putting together a plains rifle costs over $1000 now in parts.

So you are competing with similar current kits, have an accurate and nostalgic barrel, and good parts.

You’ll probably do well to price it under what Track’s and Don Stith’s kits go for by 20%.

Just my ideas. On the auction sites anything can happen.
