   For just plinking at targets or informal trail walks 50 yd or under no , longer than that or shooting for money or the like may make a difference . Weight out 20 of them and see how much they vary .

A standard rule of thumb, is the larger the ball size - the more defects it can get away with.

Thus, a 'lightly wrinkled .710" ball will fly truer than will a .445" sized ball that has identical wrinkles.

Same goes for bullets - the larger and heavier, the more defects they can have & still fly true.

It is all relative.
