found this at a local antique shop. I've heard these work for making flat horns. is 137.00 a reasonable price?

I don't really know what this book press is worth, but when I see unusual items like this that I like, a price around $100 wouldn't scare me away.  I also ask myself how often I see similar items.  The fact that you have a use for it makes it a no-brainer to me.

I don't know the retail value of a book press, but if it is functional the price seems fair enough.  When you need one, you won't find it that cheap again.

Thats the second cheapest one I have seen in about 7-8 yrs, looking in Texas and Kansas. Make an offer of cash, sometimes that helps.

 They do a good job on flattening horns but you have to think about how many flat horns you are going to make. I would be interested in it but would offer maybe 90 bucks to start and see where it goes, probably wouldn't go the full price.

Agree with TI'm on offer price. I gave 75 for mine about 5 years ago. Mine serves double duty to also press wallets, book covers, etc.
