Looking for builder to shorten barrel and stock
« on: April 12, 2018, 07:36:30 PM »
Hello.  Looking for a skilled builder to shorten barrel and stock on a Dixie Tennessee flinter.
Cut new crown , shorten stock. Basically make it look like it was made that way.
Thanks rick.

Rick,
Did exactly that. Took off 6", poured a nose cap, took off about half of the excess wood and refinished it. Looks good and handles great, total different balance.

A location of where you live might help to get a response.

We just did the same thing as Mark said on a .50 Dixie Tennessee rifle our BP club donated to the Washington State Muzzleloaders Association for their annual fundraising auction.  We also shortened the lower forestock to accommodate adding an entry pipe and added a grease hole.  It turned out great!
