Bag in progress
« on: May 04, 2018, 09:01:35 PM »
This is a bag I have in the works. It features a design based on elements of RCA #119 as well as some engravings off  Turvey and Dolep guns. I just free handed a trophy of arms with bits from a lot of different engravings, mainly butt plates.  The wave and dot border is done with tools I made for the job.

I love it James.  Thank you for the "in progress" photos.  That "freehand" carving looks super, and was an inspired idea for the flap.  I look forward to the finished product.  I think I am going to delve back into something dressier the next time.  God Bless, and best wishes,   Marc

Thanks Marc, just to clarify.. the drawing was freehand but I then put it on transfer film to rough it on the leather.

That double row of stitching at the top of the flap is especially nice. I also like the contrast of the flap color to the body.  If you need a long-term bag tester, just let me know. 😁 God Bless and happy fourth, Marc

James,
That "wave a dot" border is out of this world.  So crisp and clean.

I was wondering the same.  Did you go back over the edge after stamping to make the outside like cleaner?

Ha. It should read wave and dot border : )
No, I didn't go back over it. It just blind stamped pretty nice on the first go.
