Range Ready Rod
« on: May 28, 2018, 05:13:30 PM »
The other day I was doing some range work on a .45 rifle with a 48” barrel trying to work up a load combination. I normally fire three rounds, swab, change something and fire three more rounds. I realized I had an 8-32 jag and a 10-32 range rod and couldn’t find my little adapter.
I used the rifle’s rod and got by, but I like to save wear and tear on my wood rods when I can. This morning I turned up another adapter and drilled my rod handle so it would be a tight push fit. Now hopefully I will have it when I need it.

Looks like a great idea. I solved my similar issue differently...my range rod is one of the old 48” solid fiberglass rods that I got from Dixie 35 or 40 years ago. I put an 8-32 ferrule on one end, and a 10-32 on the other.

Great idea!  I gotta remember that when I make my next range rod.
