Some folks wanted to see more images of the original horn in my Rifleman's knife post so here you go...






I picked up this in a trade a couple of years ago - it came from SW Virginia. I decided to keep it for myself as a user so I added the buffalo rawhide repairs on both ends to close up a couple of cracks and then made the western style strap to match up with the 1825 date - an eastern horn gone west......

If there are any other shots you would like let me know - the flat butt plug is dark stained pine with a hand carved pine finial - it is held in with wooden pins and the horn was shaped round before inserting.

Along the outside curve: 12.75"
Straight from the top edge of the butt to the spout: 9 3/4"
Buttplug diameter: 2 34"

Thanks for sharing Chuck.  This is very nice older horn that would surely have a couple stories in her and I like the extras you added.  Very nice.
