Something about this photo makes the lock look like it's tipped at an unusual angle,
Must be shadows.

Do they all have the lock pointed wonky like that? The grain in the wrist is pretty harsh, I hope it's small caliber and it never falls over!

The lock is what grabbed my attention as well on first look.

I checked again and the position of the lock is a definite SNAFU :o. It's too bad because otherwise it will be beautiful.
I didn't notice the grain in the wrist, but of course you're right. It wouldn't be the rifle to carry on horseback or for somebody who falls down a lot, like me. :-[

What a lovely piece of wood. It would be difficult,not necessarily impossible, to salvage and get a decent gun.Man what a challenge this would be,and still be leary of it breaking thru the wrist.
I have one such salvage in my collection, but the lock wasn't inlet when we started building. Dave 8) 8)
