The one I let get away
« on: December 06, 2018, 04:45:50 AM »
A friend of a friend asked me to build a flintlock smooth bore for instructional purposes with a local scout group.   I had a some of parts lying around - mostly Fusiil-de-Chasse components and an English .62 smooth bore barrel.  We made a deal and I thew them all together. When I finished the gun, I was pretty pleased with it.  I really really liked it after I went to the range to see how it shot.  The target below is from 25yds offhand.  I didn't want to give the gun up, but a deal is a deal.  Such is life...

Nice looking work.  Love that deep tone to the wood.

You best hold on to the next one you build and don’t let another get away!
