Wooden shooting boxes

I'm just getting back into black powder shooting and hunting. I need a range box, so I was wondering if some of you could post your wooden range boxes. If you could both inside and out. I'm looking for ideas to build my own. Top Jaw posted a beautiful looking one in another post. Thanks Art

Hi Art,

Welcome to ALR.  Here's a link to one I made and posted a while back.  http://americanlongrifles.org/forum/index.php?topic=4855.0

Do a search here on ALR for "shooting box" and you'll find several.

IMHO, you can't build a better one than Mike's for the money.

My son and I made this one and donated it for the NMLRA auction in June.  It is  just a simply box in the inside.  No trays or compartments.   I like open boxes, I can put more stuff in them.

This one is made from Cherry I logged off my farm 20 years ago.

Here is the one I use that I bought from Northridge Woodworking.  I bought it at the 2017 CLA show.  It is a wonderful box, and very handy.

Some will say to shoot only from a bag.  I can understand that viewpoint.  That said, my range is in the woods 45 minutes from my house.  I cannot risk driving that far and not having some tool or supply needed.  I also clean at the range, and that stuff doesn't usually easily fit in a shooting pouch.  So yes, I will admit to being "non-HC/PC" and using a shooting box.

God Bless,   Marc
