Hi Folks,
I renamed my previous informational threads in the "MISCELLANEOUS TUTORIALS" section on mid-18th century British fowling guns "Understanding British Fowlers". I also just finished moving my thread on making an English fowler to the "Miscellaneous Tutorials" section.  Because of the limits on size, I had to break it into 8 parts.  It is listed as "Making an Historically Correct Mid-18th Century English Fowler".  I realize the partitioning is awkward but I do not believe there is a more comprehensive compilation of information about the characteristics of and the making of those guns to be found anywhere in print or on the internet.  I urge any of you with aspirations to make an 18th century British or British-inspired gun to review those tutorials and threads.  I apologize for any appearance of hubris but the threads are packed with information about those guns and the threads labeled "Understanding .....) are meant to offer detailed information gleaned from originals.  I will be adding to the sample size soon but they are and integral part of the building threads because they inform the choices I made in my gun making effort to produce a correct, high-end, English fowler.

Yours Obedient Servant,
dave

And thank you Dave for all your unselfish efforts. I have always enjoyed your posts on these guns and will at some point in the future make an attempt to make one for my self.  :)
