Southern Mountain Rifles at Baltimore show?
« on: March 14, 2019, 07:50:25 PM »
I'm heading down to Baltimore on Saturday to the Baltimore Antique Arma Show.  This will be the first time I have gone.  Are their usually any southern rifles to be seen at this show?

Short answer is yes.  One thing to keep in mind is that this show is really big.  I’ve found you almost need to concentrate on what you’re really looking for, and skim past other things you’re not all that interested in.  If you don’t, chances are pretty good you won’t get through the whole show.  If you go longer than one day that’s not a problem, but one day, it’s easy to be overwhelmed.  It’s a great show, but like I said, really big.  Have fun!

Ok.  Thanks for the reply, Ed.  I've heard exactly what u said about being big and overwhelming.  I guess I'll have to do like the women do and "power" shop😁.

Prepare to be very tired at the end of the day, but you won't regret it.  The show is great.  Personally, I have not seen many southern rifles there in the last 3 years.

Sometimes some nice rifles are under the tables! Not sure why, probably waiting for a friend to look at before putting it on table for general public.

Like Ed said it's a big show with lots of neat distractions, if looking for something in particular you need to concentrate on that item unless you have 2 full days. Great show I really wish I could attend, I used to attend every year but have missed the past three.

As I said the other evening Scott take your pocketbook! Southern rifles are a bit more rare too! Hope we run into each other!

Well, it was exhausting for sure.  Tons of civil war stuff.  Only saw about 3-4 mountain rifles.  The best one was with Bill Iveys son.  It was a nice Carolina mountain rifle with a unique patch box.  After awhile your head becomes numb from seeing so many revolvers, derringer and pepper boxes.🤪  Bill, nice seeing today.  That's twice in one week.  At least you're seeing me with eyes open😉
