Mostly word of mouth.
I used to do shows, a lot of people have the attitude that skilled craft work is a hobby so its not a real job so very few are willing to pay suitably .
I still have the cap box, it tarnished now.

Beautiful work, for sure. I’ve run into the same attitude regarding “worth” when restocking classic 19th century rifles...(it’s gonna cost how much!?!)...so I simply stopped. Truly custom rifles are a rathole that many enthusiasts aren’t financially prepared to enter...

Got that right, they want a custom gun for the price of a off shore kit gun.
It’s easier to go fishing. Restocking is harder than build from scratch imho.

Supposedly a reproduction of an original, but the one I bought in the past couple years has “TDC.com” stamped into it. Stupid!  >:( It does work very well, but they need to remove the Internet address from a supposedly historically based item.

Better than made in China.
But I agree they could leave their mark discretely inside.

Sir, your work is beautiful. Amazing talent.

I don't know what your price is/was for those pieces, nor will I ask. But in my experience the asking price of such work is very reasonable when the required time and effort are calculated.

The capper was traded to a leathersmith in exchange for the capper. My end of the deal was a custom hunting 3 pocket bag. We we both happy . The box I still have. I don’t make too much stuff anymore except maybe for a blanket prize occasionally.
