I for one, like it very much Mark. The treatment of the buttstock and the patch box, particularly the lid, are absolutely fantastic.

Never sawa Dawson gun I didn't like and this one is no exception. he was light years ahead of his contemporaries. I f Were a collector I'd have to have some of his work in my collection.

I have a long dormant memory of sending Tom the frizzen for this lock and
maybe some spring steel for the frizzen spring.
Thanks for the photos of this rifle made by a  man who left us way too soon.

My goodness, what's not to like!?   Love the lock.  Very interesting and unusual for a contemporary piece, especially and older one i dare say.
