For those of you who live near the Pacific North West, The West Coast Horn and Accouterments Fair will be taking place on May 3,4 and 5th. Our featured instructor this year will be HCH Master Horner and current guildmaster Carl Demke.
Starting Friday morning, Carl will be teaching a course on the making of the hornbook.. Students will leave with a completed horn book as well as the skills needed to flattening, delaminating and making horn panes.
On Saturday there will be additional demonstrations where you can also get hands on experience in other aspects of powder horn making from local craftsmen. Anyone interested can contact me via a PM and I will be glad to answer any questions or help you register for a class. There are still several openings in the horn book class. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn from the current HCH guildmaster and masterhorner Carl Demke.
