Plug Bayonet (Updated Pictures)

First time making a plug bayonet
forged 1084, 10 1/4 inch x 1/4 inch x 1 7/16 inch blade, single edge with 4 3/4 inch false edge, forged iron guard, silver bolster, turned oak handle, through tang with pewter end cap.  Fitted for a 20 gauge.

That is very cool Todd.  It is definitely out of the ordinary here on the boards.  You did a super job.  The blade shape and the turning work looks sharp.  I especially like the guard.  God Bless,   Marc

I will take a picture of it in the barrel.  It is for a 20 gauge Militiaman's musket I am working on.  I won't finish the gun until this winter, no time to work on it right now to busy with the knives, hawks and a couple of swords.  When I get it done I will post the pair.

Much prettier than the average plug bayonet.

You mentioned swords.

Would you be able to make a backwoods blacksmith's style copy of a European hunter's sword with a 16"-20" fullered blade?

Was it Roger's Rangers that had his men equipped with hunter's swords?
