Squirrel rifle....the Ohio version
« on: August 11, 2019, 11:55:26 PM »
Finished this up not to long ago. It would be typical of what was used in Ohio for a small game gettin' gun. It is very tiny and petite, 36 caliber tapered barrel. at the breech it is just shy of 1 1/2 inches wide.Barrel is hand rifled, triggers and butplate came off a beat up original as did the capbox

Man, that's nice. It would be so cool to hunt bushytails with that thing.

I'm just getting started with this stuff, but I love hunting squirrels with selfbows, more than deer hunting I think, so a squirrel rifle is certainly on my short list.

And it's cool that there's some original parts in it. That's good mojo for the hunt.

Make sure you share some nice harvest pictures when you venture out with it.

Looks Right John, Very nice work. I'm not a fan of Half-stocks or back actions but on this one I would make an exception.

Very nicely done. It would match up with a number of my original Ohio 1/2 stocks.
