Samuel States rifle form the J.M. Davis auction
« on: August 12, 2019, 11:08:18 PM »
I received the rifle I bought from the J. M. Davis auction a few weeks ago.  It was a gamble for sure.  The photos were horrible and the descriptions were even worse.  I took a chance on this one and am very, very pleased.  :-)

That's a nice looking Easton rifle and sure looks like Samuel States to me.  Good condition too.
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

Nice rifle Chris. It looks way nicer than the pictures that they had on the auction!

I especially like the furniture on this rifle.  The file work is very well done.  The entry pipe is superb.  The narrow tang on the buttplate is a great detail and really helps the rifle in its side profile.  Great acquisition !
