Pedersoli Forend Cap Screw?
« on: September 17, 2019, 04:12:39 PM »
Anyone know what size of screw the Pedersoli Kentucky pistols (.45 caliber in our case) uses to hold the forend cap and barrel? A friend and I have been having some fun with one someone put together fairly well from a kit, but the screw is absent and is part of what holds the barrel in place. I haven't located that particular screw anywhere online. I figure once I know the size I can just grab the proper size and length from the hardware store. I didn't seem to have anything that thread size at home among my loose screws.

It'll be metric. If I had to do it, I'd just use an American tap to chase the threads in the metal, and make a new screw, rather than trying to find a unicorn.

Taylor is right.Retap it to whatever U.S.size is close.I have an assortment of metric taps and dies
but rarely use them.I think the unicorn is extinct but who knows ;D

Thanks guys. I'm pretty sure I have a tap set around here somewhere. I'll probably go that route.
