double barrel Flintlock 45 cal
« on: September 25, 2019, 01:36:29 AM »
Picked this up the other day. Its a little on the heavy side but nice wood and looks to be well made. Anybody heard of J Phillips? Anxious to shoot it. 32" barrels

Pretty cool and yes, with octagonal barrels instead of tapered round, it would make for a good offhand shooting weight.
Regulation might be interesting to find. What fun!
Different patch thicknesses, different loads, 2F and 3F, and crowns don't look too bad, but a tiny amount of smoothing on that
inner corner will ease loading.
I would have preferred a hollow rib between the bls.
