Friday at Dixon's!!!!!!
« on: July 25, 2009, 02:49:14 AM »
What a day! I am still in shock, even after the 2 1/2 hour ride home!  :o I spend a lot of time lurking and reading the posts on this site attempting to learn about this fascinating hobby. Today I saw first hand what an intelligent, talented, helpfull group of craftsmen you really are. The guns, bags, horns, and engraving were unbelievable! Everyone encouraged me to build my first gun from a blank, make the mistakes everyone makes, learn from those mistakes, and then build another gun. I brought home a plain maple blank, straight GM barrel, and a Chambers lock for starters, along with the advice of Mr. Getz "build a barn rifle, they have no set style so you can't build them wrong"! Thank you everyone for a terrific day! Hope to get back down on Sunday! I'm hooked!!! ;D

I was there from 9 to 5, then went to the BBQ at Jacobsburg with the horners.  Biggest surprise was Frank House, Mel hankla, and the House rifle.  Walked around in a daze all day and only took 7 pics.  I'll get lots more tomorrow.

Rick Sheets, and wife, Barbie Chambers, Acers Cheek Piece, Don, and John Getz, Frank House, the Rifle with Mel Hankla in the back ground, and the main tent.
