Title: ramrod tapering
Post by: Longarm on August 21, 2010, 06:25:54 AM
I seem to remember photos of a tool for scraping ramrods to different diameters that I liked, I looked in the tutorials and tools and didn't find anything. Any pictures out there?

Was it the one Acer Sacarum (Tom Curran) makes?  Here's the link to his web site:

Larry it's a fabulous tool.  I've done about ten rods with mine and it is still cutting well.  What's nice is the control of the taper you can achieve, without chattering.  You still have to watch for grain run out and switch ends when the grain runs uphill.  One of my best investments.
