Title: ALR Museum Gunsmith: Blunt & Syms....NY, NY ..... A very fine set of pistols
Post by: hurricane on December 03, 2010, 06:00:51 AM
This "firm" (?) made guns in New York City, N.Y from 1837-1867. Orison Blunted is said to have patented a gunlock. They were known for pistols and musket manufacture. His partner was Samuel Syms.

A very fine pair of quality made percussion pistols in super condition! I really like the unusual powder flask that looks to be shaped and formed into a fancy rifle butt stock.

Hurricane,
Being a company that you don't hear of very often I thought I would let you know that I have a Blunt and Syms pepperbox pistol. It is in above average condition and is fully functional. It is a 6 shot pistol with a "bag" type grip and has an underhammer, ring type, action. I can't post pictures but would be glad to forward some to you if you have an interest.
