Andrew Strawvick, Butler County, PA, 40 Caliber, brass lockplate marked Pennsylvania Rifle Works.
Signed 3 places on barrel A. Strawvick rifle.  Incise carved.  Sorry about picture quality.

A nice later western PA rifle. I sincerely doubt a conversion to percussion. It's not that it couldn't have been made for flint, it's just that the gun is really much too late for this to be likely. Further, the single lock bolt tends to back my opinion unless a second hole is hidden under the sideplate... And I'd bet against.

Better (more detailed) photos would be nice.

Oops,  Absolutely right.  I was going from memory without even looking at the rifle and my memory
is getting worse all the time.  I was rainy that day so I couldn't take it outside and the background was horrible with my camera.  Maybe someday he'll let me take better pictures.  It really is a pretty rifle when you
can see it clearly.
