Please help me identify this Flint Lock Long Rifle. Hopefully the pictures are ok. There is markings on it. Maybe a signature? On the top of the barrel in cursive writing is a name? LN Rifleman.
Thanks

The photos are not taken close enough to see much details, but from what I can see, the gun appears to be a modern rifle. The name on the barrel is probably the maker, so if you want additional information, you should provide the name, or a good picture of it, for others to see and assist you. Shelby Gallien

Agree, it's almost certainly a contemporary rifle.

This flintlock looks like it was made in the last few decades!

The signature is covered in rust. will it hurt to use a fine steel wool pad to clean it up for a picture?
Contemporary=modern=replica?
Thanks

You've got what appears to be a contemporary (replica, modern made flintlock) that is well made and basic. You can't hurt the value much by revealing the signature but it's unlikely to be a big-time maker whose work is highly valued. There are thousands of hobby builders such as myself.

I agree that it's a modern rifle.
And you'd be doing it a favor by removing All the active rust. Check the bore as well and if it rust free and pristine, you might have a good shooter. If the bore is all rusted up,,,, oh well....

Here are some pictures of the signature. I went through a lot of film and did not get any real good pictures. ;Djavascript:replaceText('%20;D',%20document.forms.postmodify.message);
Thanks for looking
