I've seen different postings pertaining to such matters. I loaded a hunting rifle last Nov 12 & today stuck a cap on it & touched it off. No delay & hit the beer can half way decent at 25 yds or so. When I load to hunt I always run some laquer thinner thru the gun to pull out the oil. It was also loaded with a teflon coated patch (dry) And while leaning on the shop wall for the last 9 months there was a foam ear plug in between the hammer & nipple.

I've only left a hunting load in a rifle- for 3 or 4 months with a neetsfoot oiled patch with a thin card wad between it and the powder. The load went off peferctly, on a 100yard target and was inside the 10 ring, as-were the next 4 shots loaded freshly with the same neetsfoot oiled patches calibre .69.
