Looks great cmac. Love the color. Thats stocks got some fine curl to it ;D
-
Real nice looking! Those trigger guards look like alot of work. Do you plan to
age the iron work?
-
Thanks for the compliments. The iron has been slighty aged. Its hard to see in the pictures. I just took them today and the sunlight wasn't too bright but still shined on the metal: they aren't as bright as they look. I may age it more yet, but I'm going to leave that up to the owner. I think I have almost as much time on that guard as the rest of the rifle
Thanks for fixing the picture problem Dennis. One of these days I may figure out these things
-
Fergit tryin' ta figure out the picture thing, continue to make NICE gun's! That's a beauty! Not much NOT to like on this one. Even though I am not a fan of poured nose caps at all, that one is nice. Along with that wonderful sideplate. Good job!
-
Nice work! The wood to metal fit looks really nice to me. I agree about the nice color and the grain. That is one well done rifle. The new owner will walk proud when he carries that rifle.
-
Good morning Sir; Very fine looking Southern Mountain Rifle. The craftsmanship appears to be top line. Whats the stats on the barrel ?? I like this completed project. Have a great week. AJ
-
Love the furniture, especially the sidelate. Kudos to you
-
likey them dbl boxes.
-
The barrel is a Rice A weight Southern classic, 42" 45 caliber. The side plate is somewhat patterned off of one of the Appalachian rifles in the North Carolina Book. I like the double box also, and I believe the "stake in" release springs are one of the most reliable releases once fine tuned

I was asked to add these....
