.530 hand cast RB of pure lead, .018 blue striped pillow ticking lubed with a mix of oilive and mineral oil into beeswax and 55-85 grains of 2f Goex. Target was at 40 yards and I was sitting on a bench type chair with no table or other support. Now, if I could only get these kind of groups shooting offhand at the next BP match I'd be in heaven- ;D

The barrel is a re-purposed Lyman Trade Rifle barrel, L&R lock and custom cherry stock.

Thats a real nice group! looks like a little adjustment to the right and you got it . Tell me what is a repurposed Barrel. Good shooting keep it up :D

Try the same again and if she still shoots a hair to left tap that rear sight a frog hair to the right she should be where you want her..

I had a Lyman Trade Rifle that was a great shooter but just didn't fit me so contacted a friend who makes muzzle loaders to see what he could do. He ended up educating me on things like length of pull, cast off, etc., and we agreed on a price. I am left handed and the TR only comes in RH, so a new breech plug was installed as well. I also decided that I wanted a cherry stock that was to be stained more red than brown. So he built me a left handed, cherry half-stock with a 15 inch LOP, left hand L&R caplock with a single trigger using the barrel, butt plate and trigger guard from my Trade Rifle along the lines of the typical plains rifles of the 1830-40's. It is still the most accurate muzzle loader I've ever owned, although the new rifle this same friend is building me now to be ready in the spring may rival this one in that respect. Ya Frogs have hair. Its just real thin and a bet slimy but thats all the adjustment this gun will need. Sure wish I was so lucky ;)
