Title: J. J. Henry marked barrel

I've come across a rifle with lock and barrel marked J. J. Henry.  The barrel is also marked with a Z just
inside of the front lug.  The J. J. Henry mark on the barrel is on the bottom flat near the breech.
I'm wondering if anyone might know what the Z mark is for?
