It is about 14” around the outside curve. The Walnut base is about 2 ½”, hollowed out about 2/4 its length and held by 4 wooden pegs that also hold the base band on. The tip and collar are horn, the tip is threaded 5/8-11 as is the horn. The collar is press fit and held by the staple. Color is AF with Brown shoe polish.

That is a fine looking horn. I like the looks of it.

elegant all over, love that spout, it is very well proportioned and in harmony with the butt cap. In short, very nice work and I like it.

You're really getting into these screw tip horns Tim. They're looking mighty good. Seems you like the Philadelphia horns.

I'm not ordinarily a fan of this horn style, but I do have to say I really like this one. A lot! :) :)

Tim and I had talked about this horn a few weeks ago - before it was started. As of this morning, I am the proud owner. Can't wait to see it in person. Thanks Tim.

Very nice horn!!

Thanks for the complements. To me starting with the right horn makes a big difference. I usually start 2 or 3 horns of the same style at the same time, keeping them at the same stage. There were two others with this horn and of the three this is the best. The others are good but they do not flow like this one does. I will post another and you will see what I mean.

Pure and simple elegance. You always do great work--congratulations on another nice work of art.

Nice looking horn. Detail and proportion are perfect on the horn.
-
I'm increasingly attracted to horns like this--great craftsmanship and "architecture," not so much carving and engraving. The same way I like long guns. Lots of eye appeal in this one.

I received the horn in the mail today. it's handsome horn and deserves to supply a handsome rifle. Allen Martin is taking care of that for me. Thanks Tim. This is one to treasure.

Pletch
