I like the smaller 5 pin,....alot....... ;)
-
Nice, Tell us more about them.

Both of these blades where hand forged from old files. Both have full tapered tangs, steel bolsters, and stamped makers mark. Seven 1/16" steel pins secure the handle slabs and steel bolsters.
The smaller knife with a 4 1/2" blade is 8 1/4" overall, and has a curly maple handle. The blade is 1/8" thick in the spine.
The larger knife is 10 1/8" overall with a 6" cutting edge and a 3/16" spine. The handle is caribou antler.
Both have a well fitted vegetable tanned leather sheath sewn with waxed linen thread.

I like the shape and finish on both of those.

Nice work--I like the look and the fact that you can stil see some remnants of the original file. Would be proud to own either one. Guess I am gong to have to get me a forge.

I like em both. Sheaths too!!!!! ;D

Thanks, everybody. The smaller was forged from a tapered or wedged shaped file and didn't require as much forging. This also made for more of the file teeth to remain on the blade. I normally like to antique them but didn't do so with these two.
