Hi. I haven't posted any pictures lately so I figured it was time to share some. This is a rather plain Lehigh rifle. Unfortunately it is unsigned. The barrel is 44.5" long and .461" rifled bore with 7 wide lands and narrow grooves. It is slightly swamped from breech .937"-.839"-.845". Wrist is 1.33" wide and 1.44" high. LOP is 13.25" and a 4" drop.
Does anyone have an educated guess as to maker?

Thanks for looking and comments.

Shouldn't that tang give it away? I wouldn't think it is common. Nice rifle. The rear sight looks like N Hawk's

an early rupp maybe? herman OR john

This gun looks like a restock from the pictures. The wood look pretty new, or maybe just over cleaned. JMO.

The tang looks far too new, looks like some decorative fluff to fill an old mortise with a replaced tang screw, and the lock looks reconverted from what I can see in the non-close up photos. The pipe is a little funky too but I could get past it. Overall it looks scrubbed at the least. That said, 2nd or 3rd decade of the 19th century I'd say, could really be anyone as it's a generic piece. There are lots like this out there. I can;t seem to zoom in on the pictures so it's tough to get a real feel for surface, detail etc.
The forestock molding termination looks like someone added it later. I'll bet it was just a line that petered out, would be more typical that way, but someone had to 'improve' it down the line.
Overall profile is pretty nice for the era.

Nate, beautiful rifle resting on a fantastic "dog foot" tree. Must compliment on that tree as well as the rifle.
;D

Is it my imagination or is that tree growing on top of a rock? I like the lines of the rifle but that tree is really cool. Thanks for posting. Jack

Maybe it is a Rock Oak. ;D Sorry , I just had to say that.

In reality, it's godzilla's foot and he's about to trip over that rifle.

People always under estimate the stopping power of a longrifle.
