Title: thickness of gap

For the gap left on a half stock rifle between the under rib and nose cap how much or little should I leave.

If I can see light between the two, I feel I'm good to go.

Make it nice, cut a groove in nose cap & let the end of rib hide inside cap.   Or just cut it off close to cap--1/8" or so. Either way.  ..Tom
