Title: Levi Rakes-Tazewell County, Virginia
Post by: MGillman on June 11, 2014, 04:37:26 AM
I had the privilege of inspecting a little .36 caliber halfstock tonight stamped Levi Rakes. Dr. Whisker's book lists Levi Rakes(1809-) gunsmith, 1850, Tazewell, Virginia. Anybody got more?

I am currently actively seeking a Levi Rakes rifle. Would you be able to share any other info about where you saw this one? We had a lead on one but it has fizzled out. Levi Rakes was my husband’s 2nd great grandfather.
