Title: Managed to get teen daughter involved with Flint shooting….
Post by: yardhunter on July 17, 2014, 07:12:42 AM
Being an individual that doesn't care much about modern firearms, I watched/learned on this & other BP forums for months regarding flintlocks. I couldn't wait any longer & finally picked one up just after Christmas 2013. I started shooting it immediately, even during the dreaded cold weather here in the midwest.

Once I figured out how to load/shoot it without much difficulty, I started showing my daughter how to use the gun. This 17 year old has no fear of using a gun that is  almost as tall as she is…
She has found a new hobby--something her dad is thrilled about.

Taping off & on for 2 months….I matched this music video up to a modern semi-wild country song….
Hope you enjoy this 3:50 shooting video.

Thanks for watching…………see ya yardhunter

Yardhunter; Thanks for sharing your experience shooting and teaching your daughter this fine art of shooting Flintlocks. This youtube brings back past times when I also experienced teaching my three daughters to shoot about 30 years ago. Thanks for returning my memories to fun family times. Forgot to say
my wife also learned to shoot with me on husband and wife team shootings. Thanks again, AJ.

That's just outstanding. When my kiddos get of age I'll be putting a flintlock in their hand immediately! Thanks for sharing.

Mate, lovely to see a Father Daughter doing something fun together that she will be able to hand down to your grandchildren.  They will be lovely memories for her, and yourself, not to mention bravo for encouraging the new generation in the ceremonies of holy black.

Cheers

Gordon ;D
