Was thinking of adding a patch box to my squirrel gun it's a 32 caliber with a 44'' Rice barrel any ideas what would work for this?

Looks great like it is. Don't touch it.

Ditto what Nate said. The grease hole is charming. Don't change a thing.

I like it the way it is.

Just needs a little grease. Other than that it looks great!

Nate you did a great job on the rifle I really like it. Yep going to leave it be....:)

Seems to me you should just build another rifle with a patchbox.

Ditto what Dave said. Charming. That sure beats the common augered round hole all to heck. Keep your Snickers in your bag.

Ditto what Kermit said. I just "non-augered" a round hole into my deer gun.

B Staley, Looks great as is. if you do not want to put grease in it do like I did, fill it with 100% pure beeswax. looks great and once it sets no mess or melt.

I like it as is, and will look better once it has something in it. I'm clumsy and would be sure to get grease all over me, so I like VirginiaRifleman's thoughts on using beeswax to fill it if you so desire.

Adding one after the fact and making it NOT look like it was an afterthought gets a little tricky if your handicapped by not being able to file or sand on an existing finnish. I've seen a few efforts like that before that werent that great. Like the others have said, I like the look of what you have there now.

looks great, and I'd like to see more pics of this gun. Have they been posted on ALR before?
Thanks

Good grief! I didn't recognize it. Thanks for the comments.

Nate you built this gun for another fellow, I bought it off of him so my 12 year old grandson would have a right hand gun to use chasing squirrel this year, most of mine are left handed......:)

PM sent.

My idea is that when you get a gun finished don't mess with it unless there is a really major problem, a break in the wrist or forearm, something major. Now if you want a rifle with a patchbox build another and plan a patchbox in to start with.

Nate sent me a few pictures that he had and Jim B wanted to see a few more pictures of the gun so here you go.
