Title: double barreled fowler barrels
Post by: c deperro on January 01, 2015, 07:34:10 PM
I have a friend looking to build a side by side 20 gage fowler. He is looking for barrels. Anyone know who is making side by side barrels?

Brockways book on the ML shotgun shows how to use modern or damascus cartridge bbls for flint/cap muzzleloaders.  A great book with plenty of good info....Tom

A year or so ago, I sold a number of double barrel sets to folks on this site, and I was hoping that I'd see some of the guns that came from that.  I bought Brockway's book, an old hammer double (or three) and whittled out a flint double for a friend of mine.  It was a great project.

I too sold a pile of original  sets of dbl. barrels years ago in and around the 20ga bore. One set was 36". Still haven't seen any of these built into guns. :(

About a year ago I saw new manufacture twist-steel smoothbore barrel blanks listed for sale in Shotgun News. Supposed to Belgian; I believe they were Lemmens but cant recall for sure.

I've been waiting since March 2010 for a set of barrels from Mr. Rayle.
