I have an Ed Rayl, 38" octagon to round, 12 gauge smoothbore barrel. What would be a historically appropriate gun to build around this barrel? (Preferably flint.) Thanks for any and all suggestions.

English game gun ? Chambers lock either an early Ketland or round faced one. nice walnut full stock--or 1/2 with wood rib. Brass or iron trim. ....Tom

It would make a nice late English half stock.
Are you up for a good challenge? ;)

Is that one of the ones I would have beat you to if I hadn't run out of cash? Whatever style you choose it would make a good turkey gun.

Yes, it is. I have a question for you, I'll send a PM.
