Title: Jerry Scales Pistol on the blog
Post by: Larry Pletcher on March 03, 2009, 03:14:18 PM
This morning a Jerry Scales pistol is on the Contemporary Makers site.  I examined this pistol at the Conner Prairie Show a couple of weeks ago.   It is outstanding.  He also had a incredible blunderbus there too.   I had a chance to hold it at Friendship.  Really nice stuff!

Regards,
Pletch

I really like the engraving on the muzzle and ram rod end.  Nice clean engraving overall and not overdone.  Very nice pistol.

I have been watching Jerry Scales work for awhile and have thought his work is top of the line- not to mention he is a Master Engraver, there are a lot of people who could learn from Jerry's work. This pistol is one I would love to have- the Great Pinyone

Pinyone,
I have not seen Jerry's work before.  What school does he normally build in?

Ken - I believe from what I have seen that Jerry builds traditional in all styles- i have not seen any iron mounted pieces but everything I have seen is extremely well executed. He has obiviously been at it a while just to be the engraver he is, Track o Wolf has sold some great pieces of his, probably in there Archives, pinyone
