Have started my last LR which hopefully will be a Bucks County and on previous BC builds have made a closed end MC....am thinking of an open ended MC for this BC but am confused on its construction, Some of the pics of BC LRs seem to show an open ended MC that has brass only on the outside.... the brass doesn't continue into the bbl channel as do some Lehigh LRs. If so, how is the MC attached to the stock? I know the Lehigh open ended MCs are riveted either w/ one rivet through the RR groove or 2 rivets on the outside angles. If the BC MCs don't continue into the bbl channel....,how are they riveted? Or...am I wrong in thinking that the brass doesn't go into the bbl channel? Any info would be greatly appreciated seeing I'm totally confused ......Fred

Looking at photos I've taken of originals, both Schuler guns, the muzzlecap is only about 3/4" long, open ended, and does not wrap into the barrel channel. The cap has a groove for the ramrod, and is riveted with two brass rivets, one on either side of the stock. Hope this helps,
