Title: what favorite load for my new 44inch colerain turkey barrel.

What recommendations can you guys make to get me started? here are a few pictures of gun..

So far there are 12 turkeys that do not like
90gr of FFFG and 1.5 ounces of #5 shot.
#5 shot works out to have a great shot
pattern density and enough energy to do
the job at extended ranges. So far two
Turkey at 42 yards, but for me, 35 yards
is the max range that I strive for.
I will try and post a few photos later.

Nice Fowler Bow kill. I would give Pat,s load a definite try. Killing a turkey at forty yards. I would say Pat knows what he speaks of. Good luck

Bowkill forgot to ask.Did you build it? 20 gauge  is my favorite. Very nice looking Fowler.

Yep just finished it up, just need to find a good load before turkey season. Hunted with recurve last 2 years and had no luck. Figured i would steep up to the flintlock.

Taper....wish I had went jug to shoot roundballs.

Jug also loads shot much easier too. You could probably have the taper bored out of it and have it jugged.
