In the movie Sargent York Gary Cooper is shooting a 3/4 stock rifle do you think the gun was built 3/4 so it could be rested over a log or to make it easy to mount a can't block? Or did they use can't blocks back then? think I was told that the rifles in the movie belonged to Walter Cline a good Friend of Mr. York's. I always watch the movie be for I go to the York shoot It just had me wondering.

Check the "Jed Clampet" thread under the "Over The Back Fence" discussion. They just discussed this rifle.
