I was recently shown a 1785-1795 Reading related rifle. Under the barrel, at the muzzle, the owner found a small strip of laid paper on which was written in pencil the following inscription:
"Vyisder Zomeny Moore horziz azzes den der iz horzzes"
Any ideas?

They were very philosophical in Reading ;)

It's phonetic 101. If you can read the last part of the sentence, you should be able to figure out the first part without any help.
