On my present and last BC build, I want to duplicate an open ended MC. The pics I have show that the brass isn't inletted into the bbl channel as in the Lehigh open ended MCs. Is this assumption correct? The pics below show a BC MC that seems to be riveted into the sides of the MC.
Got some .o20 brass , but now think the brass thickness should be greater if the brass isn't inletted into the bbl channel.
Below are 2 pics of a Bucks County open ended MC....any opinions on whether this BC MC is characteristic?. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.....Fred

Fred, I think you're on the right track. Your photos indicate that the brass is about .040" or even thicker. I see a brass rivet in the upper photo.

Fred, I can't do it today, but maybe tomorrow I can post some pictures of the cap on my Bucks Co. gun.
Merry Christmas, John

Fred, good to see you are going traditional on your Bucks Co. build. I have examined a fair number of Bucks Co. rifles with open end nose caps. .040 would be a good thickness to go with. Two brass or copper rivets, one on each oblique flat. Your photo looks to be the rifle signed A.P.
