Title: Period correct lock and barrel finish

Hi to all
New to the black powder field so bare with me.
I'm building a Pre- revolution kentucky and will be finishing stock with acid stain followed up with tung oil but not sure what is period correct finish for lock and barrel?

Lock bright, barrel bright or fire blued is sort of a consensus I think.
