Title: Proper Barrel Profile for British Muzzleloader?
Post by: larrydavid on April 16, 2009, 11:02:39 PM
I am going to build an 8 bore single barrel muzzleloading rifle. I want to make it typical of an 1850 style half stock British big game rifle. I want to use an octagon barrel, but should it be straight, tapered or swamped to be proper. Also, I want to use a hook breech so that the barrel is easily removeable. Where can I get one of those to fit a 1 3/8" barrel.

Hi   Give me a call   320-679-9299  We make 1 3/8 " perc breechs in English style just for the 8 ga. rifles. I can also give you diamentions from a swamped barrel I made for an 8 ga rifle -- it looks real nice. We might have a lot of other parts you are looking for.
