This is a flat sewn bag I just finished. It has an internal divider, die forged buckle and is decorated with fine London checkering done by hand with one of my 150 year old English tools.

Wow! That makes my eyes hurt, just thinking about tooling all those lines... :o. Another super nice piece...love the buckle!

The buckle is very nice but the checkering puts it over the top!

Another classy piece of work, James. Love everything about it. Thanks for sharing.

Can we see the checkering tool too? Great bag, exceptional workmanship by the way.

Like the shape and simplicity of the bag, the Checkering changes that, nice work. Is that done with a diagonal line to start?

Thanks guys. I don't have a pic of the tool handy at the moment but it's like a smooth version of a double line space checkering tool for wood.
Tim, yes I just eyeball a line on the cant and take off from there. More labor than skill and it activates my tendinitis : )

David,
Here is a link to a picture of an English double purse crease similar to my tools

I'll bet it does, never seen that pattern on leather before.
Thanks, Tim

As always with whatever style you choose, knocked it out of the park!

Really? That is just silly cool checkering. I’ll bet you won’t see another bag like that coming or going. I can’t decide if I am inspired or demoralized. :-) Beautiful work James. Now that I have finished some house and chicken coop projects, time to delve back into leather. God Bless. Marc
