Title: Lucky find!!!

Some times you get lucky, just got this on a trade./ I have known this guy since 1976 and he has built several guns but never knew he had this hiding in the rafters!!!...50 cal X 1 X 36,,,looks like I have another project!!!

Beautiful barrel, except for that large, ugly lump on the right side of the breech area.....
Going to be interesting to see what you choose to carry it around.

might be the camera angle but as the rifling looks like its a 1/8" deep which i am sure it is not.
nice barrel find for sure!

I believe that rifling will grip a patch!  Should be a shooter.

I had Bill make an identical one for me and made a New England style half stock target rifle
with it and it was a winner. I sold it later and found out a few years ago I found out it was
destroyed in a terrible house fire that took everything else with it as well.The only thing
that can be  said for a fire is that you know what happened to your gun which is better
than a low life thief getting it.
That breech is what Bill called a "Solid Patent Breech.

A nice crown will be necessary to load tightly fitting loads that seal.

After i cone it, it will load real nice!!!!!!!!!!!

Please just just ease the sharp edges of the crown and try it, before you cone it.
